Raku pottery

Raku é uma técnica/forma de cozedura e pós cozedura de peças cerâmicas que envolve uma posterior "queima" das peças. Estas saindo do forno incandescentes (cerca de 1200 °C no máximo) são envolvidas em baldes cheios de serradura e automaticamente ardem e queimam. Caso a peça seja previamente vidrada, o resultado normalmente é um brilho muito característico e quase exclusivo do raku. Caso contrário, se a peça não estiver vidrada, depois de sair do serradura pode-se observar que fica completamente negra.


Raku ware (楽焼 raku-yaki) is a type of Japanese pottery traditionally used in Japanese tea ceremonies, most often in the form of chawan tea bowls. It is traditionally characterised by being hand-shaped rather than thrown, fairly porous vessels, which result from low firing temperatures, lead glazes and the removal of pieces from the kiln while still glowing hot. In the traditional Japanese process, the fired raku piece is removed from the hot kiln and is allowed to cool in the open air. The familiar technique of placing the ware in a container filled with combustible material is not a traditional Raku practice.

working on new textures

Por vezes a produção falha e não consigo obter o que idealizei,

 quando isso acontece tenho que meter mãos à obra e criar novas texturas para resolver o problema.

 Isso requer tempo, concentração e paciência, por isso esta semana passei 3 dias inteiros no sitio onde as coisas acontecem… na fábrica!

Olá bom dia

normalmente faço jogging 2 vezes por semana e digo-vos que é nessas  horas que tenho as melhores ideias. Nas 2 horas que estou a caminhar sinto-me completamente descontraída, relaxo, distraio a cabeça dos problemas diários, organizo-me e concentro-me em coisas novas, em ideias, desenhos, cores e perspectivas e para isso os locais onde caminho são sempre uma fonte de inspiração. O que acham? Vamos combinar uma caminhada e discutir decor?
